It is with great sorrow that we learned of the passing of Susan Grisanti on March 04, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Susan was influential to many as a musician, teacher, performer, and friend.

As her Producer, Composing Partner, Friend and Webmaster, I feel that it is fitting that this website is now her only family-sanctioned living memorial. Any donations or purchases of her recordings from this website, will be donated the Hosting and Upkeep of this Susan Grisanti website. RIP Ms Susan

I recently found her instructional videos on YouTube. I am learning the bass and use her techniques to help with my left hand form. She was an awesome guitar player. Sad to hear about her passing. God bless you Ms Susan! Thank you for spreading your gifts.

I was very saddened to see that Susan was gone. I studied guitar with her during my time in the Air Force while stationed in Lubbock. She was a kind and patient teacher who taught me the love of guitar through her passion. She will be greatly missed, but always cherished. I will always think of her each time I pick up my guitar.
I pray gods grace for her family.

Condolences

I just thought of Susan this morning and looked her up on FB and was shocked to read about her passing. We had been out of touch for many years but I still have her cassette and I remember her lively personality and great guitar playing, and her dedication to the guitar. My condolences to her relatives and friends.

I took lessons from Susan when she was a Graduate student at the University of Akron. I remember her as a gentle and encouraging spirit. Some things in life defy reason...and the passing of Susan is certainly one of those things. My hope is she has found the peace and grace she was seeking.

In Memory of

I studied guitar with Susan while I lived in Lubbock in 1997. She renewed my faith in myself and my guitar playing during a very trying time of my life. Indeed, she was an inspiration. She gave me hope and confidence and a renewed desire to play. I now live 1500 miles north, 20 years later reminiscing about Susan when I came across the news article of her untimely passing. Rest in peace. I am saddened that I cannot reconnect with you. Know that I am still playing, because of you. I still have your CD. It's in my car. I love to listen to your playing. I am only sorry that I didn't reminisce sooner.... Condolences to the family. May you be comforted by knowing that she is fondly remembered and by knowing that she is with the Lord Jesus Christ.

she's a great person

I'm from Nigeria and I dont know her but just one video from her on her youtube channel has taken me up on the path of playing the guitar. I thank her soul. I thank God for her life. This is how we know greatness. Even when they are dead and gone, when anything goes right, whaen anything goes wrong, their conscience(spirit) still imparts us. I have nothing to donate and I feel really bad for it. But God helping me, this site shall never die.

I am sad that Susan is gone. She was indeed unique, talented and beautiful, not to mention she was a hard worker. In my opinion she was the best guitarist in Lubbock and maybe all of Texas. God comfort her family in their great loss.

In Memory

The tragic news of the death of Susan Grisanti I accidentally found out just now, after receiving the sad information about her teacher death (Dr James Bogle). I was so lucky to meet them both in 1989, when I was first visiting GFA Festival in Lubbock. In the later years I even had the opportunity to cooperate and play together with Susan. She was with no doubt a great person, very imaginative artist, always so warm and friendly. With her passing, the guitar world has lost a unique personality. Dr Uros Dojcinovic

A Star that will be missed

I had Susan as my guitar instructor a few years back and she was by far the most talented person I have ever met in the music world. When my life took me in a different direction and I had to stop my lessons with Susan. She told me I was always welcomed back and it was a pleasure and well.. it was my pleasure as well. You were a talented musician and awesome person. Now you can play your music for the lord now. You will be remembered and miss by many and me. God Bless
